About the briefs
What is Not On The Fridge?
A new drawing brief every day, for people who want to draw more and worry less. Read it, draw it on paper or screen, and share it if you like. Rough is fine. Rough is the point.
When does a new brief appear?
At midnight UK time, every day. Older briefs are in the Archive.
What are Quick, Full and Stretch?
Three ways to do the same brief. Quick is a short, simple version, Full is the standard one, and Stretch adds a challenge. Pick whichever suits your day.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It's free to read, print and share, and there are no accounts.
Who is it for?
Anyone. Beginners, rusty sketchers and seasoned artists get the same brief. The site is meant for people aged 13 and over.
Printing and sharing
Can I print a brief?
Yes. Open a brief and choose Printable PDF. You're welcome to print it for yourself, your class or your club.
How do I share my drawing?
Post it on Instagram, Threads, Facebook or Bluesky with #NotOnTheFridge and tag us. We love seeing them.
Will you show my drawing on the site?
We may show a few shared posts on the site using the platform's own embed, with your name and a link back to your post. We'll ask you before using a picture any other way, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
Are the daily briefs also on social media?
Yes. The day's brief is posted as a picture every morning. Follow us from the links at the bottom of the site.
Email and privacy
Do you email the daily brief?
Not yet. Today's brief is on the home page, and you can follow us on social media to see it each morning. You can add your email on the Coming soon page and we'll write to you once, when accounts and posting open. You must be 13 or older.
How do I be taken off the email list?
Write to us using the form below and we'll remove you.
What do you do with my email address?
We use it to write to you once, when accounts and posting open, and nothing else. Read the Privacy Policy for the detail.
Something isn't right on a brief or a shared post.
